INASGOC is showing Its Readiness at Test Event for Women Handball Asia Championship


Women Youth Handball Asian Championship which took place at GOR POPKI, Cibubur-Jakarta on 20-28 August was the 3rd test event organized by INASGOC after Asian Triathlon Championship in Palembang and 2nd Paragliding Asia Trophy at Puncak, West Java.

The participating countries are South Korea, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, and host, Indonesia. It was opened by Executive Director of Asian Handball Federation, Ahmad Abu Al Lail, Sunday (20/8/2017). In organizing this test event, INASGOC cooperates with PB. ABTI (Indonesia National Handball Association) and AHF (Asian Handball Federation).

“This 3rd test event shows to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) that Indonesia is serious in its preparation towards next year Games times, especially since it is exactly one more year,” Erick Thohir said.

The implementation of the Asian handball Championship test event in Cibubur confirms the use of GOR POPKI as a single venue for the sport which will be participated by 16 countries in the men’s sector and 12 countries in the women’s during the Asian Games.

It was stated by Ahmad Abu Al Lail when asked about the certainty of handball venue.

“First I thanked INASGOC, and the Indonesian handball association whom have held this championship as an Asian Games test event. I believe this arena is very feasible for Handball in Asian Games, there also will be two training venues. With only one competition venue, we will extend the game time during the Asian Games 2018,” said Ahmad Abu Al Lail.

According to Djoko Pramono, Deputy I Games Operations INASGOC, to support the handball game in Cibubur, INASGOC has prepared two training venues.

“Training venues for handball is available at GOR Ciracas and GOR Kelapa Gading, with the third event test in a row, INASGOC has got a positive picture and inputs to support the major Games times,” added Djoko.

Meanwhile, in the opening match, the Indonesian women’s team must surrender from Hong Kong with the score, 15-24.

in the second match, Japan’s top seeded team beat China 31-21.
